Enter the Box League 2021 by 18 April

We'll be having another club Box League tournament this year, for all members of Sax tennis club to enter. It takes a round robin format with hopefully more than one group per competition with winners of the group (maybe runners-up) going into Finals Day on the 29 August.
Obviously, this will be subject to Covid measures and depending on when we can get back onto the court and back into doubles action. But, all being well, we can get this going and build on last year's fantastic participation.
Groups will be smaller this year to guarantee the completion of all matches however with multi groups per competition there is no limit to the number that can enter. Therefore, it would be great if we can beat the number of 50 participants that signed up last year.
With the addition of trophies, there's hopefully more incentive for those to enter, however the box league will continue the tradition of having the main aim of just getting players on court and mixing in with others they don't usually get the chance to play with, therefore it will continue to be a fun based tournament for all ability levels, above all else.
The competition will run from 1 May until 15 August 2021, giving you plenty of time to fit in your matches, which will roughly equate to one match a month per competition entered.
The entry fee is £2.50 which will go fully towards trophies and hopefully a shield. Entries for the pairs event is also £2.50 per player. When entering please stipulate who your intended partner is or if you’d like a partner at random. Please also leave your preferred contact details. Email matthewlast6@gmail.com to enter. Matt will also arrange for sign-up sheets placed on the noticeboard in the clubhouse.

Format and Rules
Matches are to be organised and played at your own leisure, therefore it’s up to you to contact those who are in your group to get the matches arranges.
Contacts will be emailed out before the start of the competition. No points can be claimed for unplayed matches so please get them played before the 15 August.
Each match will be first to two sets (normal sets) with 2 points going to the winner and a bonus point for the losing player/pair if they won a set.

Regardless of results, please keep the 29 August free as we’ll also run a social tournament in line with finals day to make a proper day of it and enable everyone the chance to get on the court.
