Saxmundham 1st Doubles Summer League team match report from team captain

Since my last report we've played all our matches except for against David Lloyd, who conceded as they were unable to get a team on three occasions.

YM away - final score 4-5 to YM Doubles pairs: Mags and Roger C, Lisa and Ewan, Martin and Fran

Playing YM is always a challenge as the courts are Astro but very strange to play on unlike Ipswich so definitely a home advantage!

A close match that didn't go our way but it was very enjoyable and challenging nevertheless.

Doubles pairs: Lucy and Matt, Roger C and Nicole, Jackie and Ian

A good match, but we were pipped to the post again by YM.

Adastral Park away - final score 3-6 to Adastral Park Doubles pairs: Lisa and Roger C, Jackie and Anthony, Mags and Ewan

It was a good evening despite having to walk a long way to the facilities as the closer ones were closed because of Covid-19! (Ewan’s Mum kindly gave me a lift as it was a very long way – Thank you!) Ewan was a star who won against a very difficult pair with his partner Mags.

r players had a migraine so had to concede one match. Stowmarket are very consistent, and it just wasn't our day!

I wish Mags a speedy recovery as unfortunately she broke her wrist playing in the Thorpeness tournament. Hopefully she will be back on court soon.
