Wimbledon ticket ballot update for all members

Update from Fiona Foreman, Club Secretary: This may seem an odd time to be writing about the Wimbledon Championships. Last year's tournament was cancelled, the first time since the Second World War. We don't yet know what form the Wimbledon

Championships will take this year but should almost certainly go ahead and hopefully will see a return of some spectators to the show courts.

This is to let you know the LTA Members Ballot Opt In window for The Championships 2021, will open soon.

There is no public ballot for tickets this year. However new members may not be aware that the LTA allocate a few tickets to this club each year. In the past we have run the ballot from the club but this year

it will now be centralised and run by the LTA/AELTC.

Unfortunately, the new centralised system will not yet have a day/court preference system for LTA Members. To qualify to enter The LTA Members Ballot you have to be a paid up club member and become a British Tennis Member (BTM).

You can do this by logging onto the LTA website. You must Opt In to their Wimbledon ticket ballot and link yourself to Saxmundham Sports Tennis Club. As a club member, basic BTM is free although you can upgrade it for £20. Both categories allow you to enter the ballot.

Current BTM members - don't forget to Opt-In.

As we have come to expect, the championships may not go ahead but I will be in touch when I hear more.
