End-of-season special report by Ladies' 2nd team team captain, Nicole Hobson
The Ladies' 2nd team enjoyed a memorable final couple of games recently, as part of their successful summer season run, with three club members making their debut matches.
They were Charlotte, Imogen, and Silke - and their match performances were outstanding.
The trio also received heartfelt appreciation from the rest of the team, and it's been great to have more people enjoying friendly league matches.
The final match of the season took place on Thursday 10th August at home, where, despite a gracious defeat to our Ladies' 1st team - which had also introduced new players Jen and Julie - our spirits remained high.
The warm summer evening was perfect for tennis, and the matches brought on a great display of skill and camaraderie.
Doubles partners were Wendy and Sharon, Fran and Imogen, and myself with Silke - and very enjoyable games were had by all, including some very close and hard fought matches.
As the season concludes we're looking forward to the upcoming ladies' social evening, providing a chance for the team to get together and celebrate.
The dedication and effort of all players, including Shirley, Jennie, Sharon, Barbara, Jill, Fin, Jo, Kathy, and Lucy, contributed to a successful year of tennis.
But a special mention must go to Wendy, for making a triumphant return to league matches this year.
This summer season might be over, but the memories and teamwork will carry on until the next one.
