Report from Ladies 2nd team captain, Nicole Hobson
A chilly evening on Monday 8 November saw a great night's tennis, as our Ladies 2nd team played against Holbrook at their visiting residence, Washbrook.
Our Ladies 2nd team put in another sterling performance, with the pairing of myself and Fiona, and Barbara and Fran.
Myself and Fiona managed to win all four of our sets played, though one set went to a tie-break so we had to dig deep in the cold autumn night to come up winning.
Fran and Barbara also played very well, only dropping one set which went to 7-5. So, extremely close games, and great performances all round.
An interesting observation; Holbrook now play at Washbrook tennis courts, which are situated in the middle of nowhere. So imagine our surprise to hear the sound of bagpipes and jazz music wafting across the misty glen. Wherever it came from, it certainly spurred us on towards victory!
