Thursday 20 May saw the next outing for our new Ladies 2nd team, this time an away match against Bramford. And what a fantastic evening!

Bramford's team, like ours, is newly-formed, with the goal of enjoying playing tennis. We had a very warm welcome, with one of their players, a strawberry farmer, sharing a bowl of beautiful, sweet strawberries with us.
And most of us had a cuddle with the club cat, a beautiful ginger who circled the court, played with our stray balls, and wanted to go home with Fran.
The most notable feature of the evening was the extraordinary weather - gale force winds.
However, nothing could dampen our spirits, and we ended the evening as 6 v 3 winners, hoorah!
Our newbies, Sheila and Grace, excelled themselves with some fine play and, most importantly, good sportsmanship.
We're really looking forward to Bramford coming to us on 16 July.
