MEDIA RELEASE – APRIL 2023 – Girls’ tennis gets a boost in Saxmundham

Excellent opportunity for girls aged 4 to 16 to start playing tennis as part of a national initiative comes to local Suffolk club

As the nationwide drive to boost girls’ participation in sport continues, Saxmundham Tennis Club is one of the lucky clubs across the UK to be part of a new national initiative to get more girls involved with playing tennis.

Prime Video LTA Youth Girls is a girls-only beginner’s tennis course, for ages 4 to 16, encouraging the next generation of girls to start their journey playing and loving the great sport of tennis.

Delivered by LTA-accredited coach Matthew Last at the club in Carlton Park, Saxmundham the six-week introductory course is packed with games and exercises to build girls’ confidence and skills on court, make tennis more fun, social, and engaging for girls, and to inspire girls to play more and enjoy the many benefits the sport has to offer.

The course at Saxmundham costs £35 for six hour-long sessions of coaching, and girls taking part receive a tennis racket, t-shirt, tennis balls and other goodies, so they can keep practicing at home or court.

Sessions start in April and run until November at Saxmundham Tennis Club, Carlton Park, North Entrance, Saxmundham, Suffolk, IP17 1AT. There are plenty of spaces available, find out more and book at
