The club's open weekend, which took place on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May was a huge success, drawing an estimated 120 visitors over the two days, and attracting more than 30 new members of all ages.
The day went well thanks to the tireless efforts of our head coach Matt, with support from the committee, culminating in what was "the biggest and best open day to date" according to Matt.
All three courts were almost always full of keen players, there was also an incredible BBQ... and TONS of cake.
In a message to all members, club secretary Fiona Foreman wrote:
"Welcome to all new members. A thank you to all who attended the club's Open Weekend just gone by, either as a player or as a volunteer or some of you as both.
"We had a good turnout, good food, everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves AND we were lucky with the weather.
"Particularly, mentions go to Matt who hardly left the court for the last two days aided by Ewan and Richard, Kim and Shirley who slaved over the BBQ all day and provided delicious coleslaw and potato salad, and Judy, Jill, and Jennie for providing the other salads.
"Also, Bill for keeping us entertained with his singing and committee members Fran, David, Jill and Jo for making the event run smoothly."
