Sax v Woodbridge match sees the L2s triumph!

Yay! Wednesday 16th July 2025 saw our Ladies 2nd team win a home match against the Woodbridge Ladies' 2nd team, writes Team Captain Jennie Palmer.

Saxmundham Ladies 2nd team on the night: Jennie Palmer (Captain), Wendy Martin, Ann Raynor, Jess Gray, Shirley Marfleet, Charlotte Crofts.

Ok, so three games were conceded but Charlotte and Shirley battled hard to win a tie-break, and win one of their two games; and as they were both on fire I'm pretty sure if there had been a third they would've also won that.

Jess and Jennie played the longest game of the evening - a colossal 16 point tie-break! - and narrowly lost the first game, but went on to comfortably win the second.  

Meanwhile, Wendy and Ann seemingly were playing all night; Wendy's athleticism shining through with all that running... even our canine mascots Gemma and Doris were totally mesmerised !

Well done team, with special thanks to Jess for partnering me (Jennie). Overall, our brilliant six-person team-play saw us clinch a 5-4 win.
